That Red Day That Almost Wasn't....

Remember this post about going green? Big A's school day works on a color system and of course we strive for green days since they're the best. Yellow days are so-so and red days? Well.... They are JUST. PLAIN. ROTTEN!
Big A has been working towards Coldstone, Chuck E. Cheese and Disneyland. He's achieved the Coldstone goal but the closest he's gotten to Chuck E. Cheese is 4 green days (out of 10). That was last week, and I truly expected him to keep up the pattern this week. I had complete confidence and faith in him until he woke up before 4am Monday morning. I knew right then and there that we were in trouble for Monday but hoped he'd turn it around today. NO SUCH LUCK! The last two days have been red days.
Each day the kids bring something home letting the parents know what kind of day they had. They started out bringing home construction paper cut outs of stars, trees, butterflies, etc. and now they are bringing home foam animals and bugs and things. Do you notice any differences between these two red day notices??
Look closely.... Do you see it?
Yes, today's has no head and only 3/4 of a left wing. Anyone care to try to guess why?
It seems that in an effort to hide from us the fact that he'd had a red day today, Big A attempted to rip up the foam ladybug and throw it in the trash.... Thus, the red day that almost wasn't.
Let this be a lesson to you, Son... Foam is stronger than paper and I keep trying to tell you that parents ALWAYS find out. *SIGH* Some day you'll learn, it only took me 34 years!
