WOW! I'm telling you, this woman continues to amaze me!
Tonight she removed these final strips...
Mom is now bandage free! No dressings, no steri-strips, no bandaids, no covering whatsoever. She is a FREE woman! Well... Free to shower at least!
This week she started out-patient physical therapy (outside of the home) and started going to the lab for blood draws (rather than the lab coming to her while she sits on the couch). They told her that if she's healed enough to go shopping at Kohl's (Yes, she did do that!) then she's healed enough to go to her appointments. The therapist was so pleased with her progress already that we're certain she'll be released after just a couple of weeks (versus six or more weeks last time). She's even riding her stationary bike at home AND she drove herself to the lab! Amazing, right?
Now I'm not saying she has no pain... She does. And I'm not saying she can run a marathon tomorrow... She can't. But all things considered... You know, like that fact that's it's been less than three weeks since her surgery... She's doing AWESOME!!!
Now, if she could just get some sleep...
