Okay.... So MAYBE you couldn't actually SEE the whales (You could see their tails if you looked in the binoculars) but we saw at least twenty water spouts. It was AWESOME!
There was a gentleman there who'd been out watching the whales for quite some time that day and was very knowledgeable about what we were seeing, where they were, where they had been, where they were headed, etc. Big A befriended him right away and they had a great conversation about Whale Wars and different whale species. It was neat to watch and a proud mommy moment when the man said, "He is SO smart!"
After we watched whales for a good 30 minutes, we headed down to the beach to collect shells and watch the sunset. There was a group of people down on the beach twirling some sort of balls at the end of ropes. I couldn't figure out what they were doing until I looked over and saw this...
After playing in the tide pools, watching the man twirl fire balls, and collecting shells, we posed for pictures, watched the sunset, and hiked back to the car.
