Work Days And Birthdays

This morning our family participated in a work day at our church. Being June and all, one would expect that the sun would be shining and the weather would be perfect for doing outside work... HA! No such luck! We woke up to grey skies and pouring rain but that didn't dampen (no pun intended) the spirits of a group of hard workers!

With some quick thinking and rearranging on the part of the work day organizer, a list of indoor projects was compiled (and some people just sucked it up and worked outside in the rain) and we got to work!

The work day was followed by a yummy BBQ lunch and then we all went off to do the rest of our Saturday things. For our family this meant that Big A and B went home to veg and watch TV while Little A and I braved the rain to attend a birthday party at a local horse stable.

Little A was SO excited to ride a horse!

After the party Little A went back to the birthday girl's house for a play date and I went home to hang out with my guys. While I love my kids more than anything, it's always a treat to get to spend time with just one of them because they act totally different when they're alone than they do when they're together. We had a nice dinner with Big A and treated him to frozen yogurt before picking Little A up and heading home for the night.

Rain and shine, we had a great day! I loved seeing my kids get so involved in the work day and loved the pride that they showed at what they accomplished.
