We spent yesterday at the annual Easter party at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The attendance changes yearly based on who's in school with whom, who works with whom, who mom and dad meet in their travels, etc., but the fun never does!
It had rained ALL week last week and we were terrified that 200 people would be hunting for Easter eggs in the rain but we could not have asked for more perfect weather! Many people even left with their first sunburns of the season! No need to thank us, it's part of the deal!
Besides hunting for eggs the kids enjoyed playing in the sand box, climbing on the structure, making bead necklaces, coloring Easter eggs, decorating foam bunny faces, and rocking out with Tim Cain. The adults enjoyed the adult egg hunt and watching the kids run and romp. As usual, everyone had a GREAT time. We were EXHAUSTED!!

That crazy Easter Bunny hid the kids' baskets in the most BIZARRE places!

HERE....
While he was checking out the new 'Monkey Monk' movie, I asked Little A to help me with the laundry (one of her favorite jobs). She willingly obliged and ran over to open the dryer (see that sunburn???)...
Is it mean that when the kids woke up we encouraged them to go downstairs and search for their baskets? They were starting to get a little sad when they found nothing. Little A even had me lift up the couch so she could look underneath, but all she found there was a misplaced Lego. I suggested that EB had perhaps gotten confused and left their baskets at Grandma and Grandpa's and suggested that we go upstairs and get ready to go. I told Big A to get ready for his shower. He opened the shower door and gave it a quick once over, but found nothing. I then asked him to get me their allergy medicine out of the medicine chest...
We reminded Big A that he was supposed to be getting ready for his shower so he went BACK to the bathroom and this time he looked in the shower he was a little more thorough...
The kids enjoyed going through their baskets and were both happy with what EB brought although Little A took a little longer to convince. She kept asking if there was going to be more stuff for her. Big A, on the other hand, could not stop saying, "AWESOME! AWESOME!" Chalk one up for EB!
We spent the rest of the day churching, napping, eating and hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a great Easter weekend (I mean... How could it not be with THESE smiling faces???)!
