Happy Birthday, America!

Whew! What a day!

We arrived home from our trip about 3pm, unpacked, showered, started laundry, and took naps. I had set the alarm so we'd be sure to get up in time to get to Grandma and Grandpa's and then get downtown for the fireworks. It's a good thing, because we were all pretty tired and probably would have slept through the night if we'd been given the chance!

Grandma and Grandpa had stocked the truck with chairs and blankets and taken it downtown earlier in the day to stake out our usual 4th of July fireworks watching spot (Kudos to you, GREAT idea!). We went to their house and picked them up, hit the In-N-Out drive-thru, and headed to the truck. We picnicked in the pack of the truck, the kids did fireworks on the street corner, and then we snuggled in our blankets and enjoyed the show over the fairgrounds!

Happy Birthday, America! Thanks for another great year!
