One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians...

Four little, five little, six little Indians...

Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians...

Makes a baseball team!

The A's are playing baseball this year... I lucked out in that Big A was old enough to move up a league and young enough to stay in the lower league. Since he didn't play last year and this is Little A's first year playing, I decided to keep him in the lower league. It worked out GREAT because they are on the same team! Aren't they the cutest little Pee-Wee Indians you've EVER SEEN!?!?

They are both enjoying it and I can see their skills improving. The Pee-Wee league is coach pitch. The coach pitches to the kids about five times and pretty much any 'hit' at all counts as a hit. If they don't hit the ball after about five pitches, they bring out the tee. I'd say the A's hit off the tee about 50% of the time.

Every child bats each time the team is up and there are no outs, fouls, etc. A hit is a hit and they get to run to 1st base. They advance one base with each batter until the last batter comes up and they run all the way around.

They rotate positions in the field and every child plays. Every ball, no matter where it lands on the field, is thrown to first base. They get great practice throwing and catching (or at least throwing...).

Little A is always watching and ready when she's in the field. She crouches down and keeps her eye on the ball.

Big A? Not so much although he's getting better! He prefers to play in the dirt, pick grass, dance and talk to the opposing team's players. But hey, he's having fun and THAT is what I care about!

GO INDIANS!
