The craziness started with Little A's spring show, "Music Around The World". The kids performed songs in different languages from all around the world. They were encouraged to dress in traditional clothing from other countries if they had anything. All we could think of was an outfit that Grandma had made for me when I was Little A's age, that I'd worn to perform the Mexican Hat Dance with my preschool class. It was PERFECT!
The next night we attended Big A's spring concert where each grade performed 3 songs. Each grade level performed one Beatles song and two other's they'd been working on. The first grade sang Yellow Submarine, which Big A seemed to enjoy singing until it came time for the concert. He tends to clam up and get a little shy in front of all the people.
Fast forward one week to Little A's last day of school and her Junior K 'gradunation'. Grandma and I attended this event and watched Little A's class perform a play they'd been working on, receive their awards, and present their parents with a 'Thank You For Bringing Me To Junior K" gift. This little ceremony was followed by a school-wide pot-luck. Little A is SO excited to 'be in kindergarten'... She can't wait!
The following Sunday we celebrated Little A's 'gradunation' with a BBQ dinner, cards and flowers, and cupcakes.
Following our celebration we had one more week of school... One more week of going to bed early... One more week of waking up early... One more week of making lunches... WE CAN DO THIS...
And we made it! On Big A's last day of school we celebrated with donuts and hot cocoa for breakfast and Pinky's Pizza for dinner. It doesn't get much better than that!
LET SUMMER VACATION AND THE GOOD TIMES BEGIN!!
